IT Is The Word Of God

Proverbs 6:22-23 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
The word IT in the above verses is referring to the Word of God which is sometimes referred to as the Commandment. IT, shall lead thee. IT shall keep thee. IT shall talk with thee. Everyone wants a companion, a guide, and someone to counsel and to help them. Who else can give you His presence when you go, sleep, and awake? Who else can assure your success while engaged in these three daily activities?
You and I want security. We want to know that we are travelling in the right direction and that we will be protected while going. God goes before us when we walk with Him. He clears the path of robbers, deceivers, and wild animals making our passage to be safe. All of us need a leader like this; someone who leads us with our best interest in mind. God does not lead us with selfish motives. He knows the direction that leads us to happiness. The Word of God has already plowed the path for you. How many times do we read the word IF in Scripture, meaning that IF we be doers of God’s Word that certain blessings will surely transpire. Who else can make such guarantees and to each generation? Indeed Gods Word goes before us.
Did you know that even while we sleep it shall keep thee? Even while we are powerless, helpless, and unconscious does the Word of God actively protect and guard us. But look at the last action that the Word of God performs. IT shall talk with thee. Only a book that is alive can speak, a dead book cannot speak. Notice the personal application. It shall talk with THEE! Thank God that when there is no one else to help me God talks with me; and Praise God Almighty that when we are driving down the road or at our workplace and unable to read the Bible that his Word is still in us and able to speak and to help us!
