Set Your Love Upon God

Psalms 91:14-16 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

The list of promises offered by God is never ending to the soul that will very simply, love Him.  Love is too simple for many.  Mankind is too complex for the simplicity that is in Christ.  Man wants a religion where he can be glorified, but true religion and worship gives God, the maker of Heaven and Earth, all of the glory. God is not looking for people to impress Him as your boss may.  God is looking for people that will very simply, love Him.  The promises written above from God are for those that will set their love upon Him.  Is it so horrible that God wants your love?  Is He being too difficult in desiring your heart?  Is He mean, rude, and demanding simply because His number one motive is love?  People jump through hoops in order to please others with less than desirable motives but refuse to consider God’s Son Jesus, who expressed perfect motives with the shedding of His blood for all of us.  God’s love has been perfectly demonstrated to us in the giving of His Own Son’s life.  To love is to give, and it goes both ways as spoken by Jesus in the book of John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Your life will never be fulfilling and you will not be fully content loving everything else in this world except God; and if you say that you do love Him but love others more, you are left with the same emptiness and dissatisfaction as those that do not know Him.  The only satisfaction for the soul is the love of God, both from Him, and to Him.  But wait, look what he will give to you that no one else can.  Deliverance, protection, direct communion with God, help in time of trouble, (and trouble is coming), honour, (be sure its God honouring you and not the devil), and long life.  All of this my friend is yours, if, you will love the Lord purposefully and passionately.
